Punta del Diablo

For Halloween weekend, Jen and I took a trip to Punta del Diablo, a small beach town some four hours away from Montevideo. We took advantage of the three day weekend and stayed Saturday and Sunday nights in a hostel called El Diablo Tranquilo. This hostel was staffed by mostly Americans and most of the travelers spoke English, so we got to speak more English than we are used to. Punta del Diablo is a small fisher´s village that has been converted into a tourist destination within the last five years, but still retains a quaint atmosphere. Unfortunately the weather was a bit rainy over the weekend, but we still enjoyed strolling along the beach when the rain let up and hanging out by the fireplace in the hostel. Sorry we have been updating less frequently as of late. We have been busy with our teaching jobs and are still enjoying ourselves in Montevideo.
