Salta Province

After leaving Tucuman province, Jen and I headed to Cafayate for a two nights. We stayed in a nice room with a balcony close to the central plaza of this small town. We did an excellent excursion in the Quebrada de Cafayate, which is a region with huge canyons and multicolored mountains. We also had the chance to try some famous wine flavored ice cream which was surprisingly similar to real cabernet! Our next stop was Salta, a main tourist hub in the north of Argentina. We spent two more nights in a decent hotel, and celebrated four years of dating by going out to a great restaurant. We ate delicious steak, drank local wine, and enjoyed live folk music played right at our table. After our low key stay in Salta, we headed further north to La Quiaca, a border town with access to southern Bolivia. We stayed in this small, boring place long enough to sleep a good nights rest and get prepared for entry into Bolivia...

Ever since we got to Bolivia, we have experienced some serious computer problems which should explain why we can't post any pictures yet. We are trying to recover the pictures and will put them online as soon as our broken computer gets fixed!
