From the perspective of some uninformed Pisco residents, our group was in town laboring as a punishment for unforgivable crimes committed in our own country. I guess you could say, Pisco Sin Fronteras would be better compared to prison labor mixed with summer camp! Those volunteers who were not bedridden by diarrhea, were 100% committed to their daily jobs that ranged from laying foundation for a house to constructing a birdwatching tower at the beach.

I was so impressed with how PSF is a way to let everyone´s talents shine. If you are an excellent artist, you can be in charge of painting a mural on the walls of a school. If you are a brilliant carpenter, you can give someone without furniture a new dining room table. The group was filled with people who could cook, build, weld, draw, and lead a group in a challenging new construction project. I personally think that our most important contribution was our Spanish speaking ability which proved useful in countless situations. PSF is full of quality people who are eager to do hard work and bond with the other volunteers. Overall, we had a blast and we hope to meet some of our new friends again when we get back to the U.S...
